In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.

The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Content

Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an unique katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Update

This patch also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma."
